The Miss Conception of Dieting

November 18, 2007

When someone realizes that their bodies are overweight what they do is to eat less food. They think it is a simple way to reduce the weight. As most people know, the food what we eat is the problem maker of our weight gains. Almost every diet or eating plan on offline and online media says pretty much the same words: eat less food. Therefore the answer to the problem is very easy. And then they realize that eating less food than before is a hard work.

But actually reducing the volume of their food wouldn’t help reducing their weight. This is happen because our bodies are made to survive. When the body get less food than it will automatically lowering the amount of energy produced and limiting the capacity for effort so the weight doesn’t decrease.

So the keyword is “eating smart” rather than “eating less”. According to trusted reports, overweight people and thin people eat generally the same volume of calories per day because their bodies required the same volume of food. However, overweight people eat far more fat than thin people, who seem to prefer complex carbohydrates that are simply broken down and metabolized by the body. This is the major difference between the two groups and the best starting point to consider what and how to change in your eating lifestyle.

Great dieting always takes more time. The excess weight was not accumulated in one week and then won’t lose in one week. Every year millions of people are searching website and reading health magazine to find dieting tips, weight management program, and the latest modern invention: a pill that can reduce weight in a few days. And I think you have the same experiences: facing a huge of advertisements promising such amazing result with the help of magic supplement or other. And of course someone with a clear thinking in his brain do know that losing weight doesn’t achieve by that way.

The one and only road to lose weight for good is to avoid eating food that are rich in fat and to exercise regularly. Dieting without exercising is useless because all the weight lost by eating less food will come back again in a period of time. The urban lifestyle is the main actor behind the recent increase in the amount of overweight around the world. Cars, office jobs and food rich in fat have brought us a serious weight gains problem.
