Social Effects of Drug Rehabilitation

April 2, 2010 | Leave a Comment

Alcoholism and drug dependence are not individual problem, these are the most annoying social problem that enforce all of us in responsibility to work hand in hand to recover the problem just to improve our environment quality. As we know, alcohol and drug abuse sometimes threatening public safety, and of course causing individual misery and sometimes, when untreated, death, as well as destroying family life. So if you find one of your family, friends, or someone else experience such problem, we need to help them to recover their life through alcohol or drug rehab. You can find it on your local area wherever you live. If you live in Ohio, you can find such information by entering keywords such as Ohio Drug Rehab, Ohio Drug Rehabilitation or Drug Rehab in Ohio through Google.

Whenever someone recovers their life through alcohol or drug rehab, the benefits ripple far and wide. The individual has his or her life back, which is the best result of a successful drug rehab program. But the effects reach beyond individual successes: friends and families can begin to relax, breathe easier, and enjoy improved quality of life; individual workplace performance improves and businesses share in that success; and improves society at general.

The X-Factor Diet

February 7, 2010 | Leave a Comment

Well, it seems that people who cannot come up with an original idea, can at least think of a trendy name containing the eye-catching and product selling letter “X” and maybe even a reference to the popular X-Files series. I know that the X-Files series is now ancient history, but so are the glory days of the Atkins diet and of many other low carbs diets. However, this doesn’t mean that low-carbs diets have stopped working. You just have to be very careful when choosing one, because you might end up depriving yourself of vital minerals or vitamins.

So, what else is it to this X-Factor Diet beside the rather out of place use of the letter X? Well, not much. The same old idea that cutting off the carbs will help bring blood sugar levels under control and reduce the amount of insulin released into the cardiovascular system. This will, of course, prompt the body to start burning up the energy stored as fat in order to make up for the difference in energy levels. By controlling insulin levels, the user can prevent or even treat the condition known as Syndrome X (hence the book title) or insulin resistance, which diminishes the effect of insulin on fat and promotes obesity.

The diet features two programs to choose from, depending on how much fat you’re planning to shed, but both of them are basically the same low-carbs, high-protein diet. The biggest difference between the X-Factor and Atkins is the fact that X-Factor avoids the fried foods and butter promoted by Atkins and focuses instead on healthier fats obtained from lean meat, chicken, eggs and fish. Bread, pasta, wholegrains, rice, beans and most fruit and vegetables are out. However, the Insulin Balance eating plan allows a bit more vegetables and fruits than the Ketogenics plan.

Following the stricter plan women can expect to shed between 4 and 12 pounds in the first two weeks, followed by 1 to 2 pounds later on. Men are likely to lose between 8 and 16 pounds during the first phase of the diet. Overall, this diet is a little better than the Atkins diet, but still not very healthy for users. Healthy eating requires you to split the intake of calories between carbs (50 percent), fat (35 percent) and protein (15 percent). A diet that replaces carbs with proteins is likely to mean trouble later on, especially since no studies have managed to prove that low-carbs diets are better than low-calorie diets.

Avoid Fast Food, Snacks, and Soft Drink, Buy Fruits Instead

It’s a public secret that gaining weight is easy, but on the other way losing it is damned hard. Eating is one of the true pleasures in life and refraining from food has huge physical and psychological implications that cannot be easily discarded.Nobody likes to have to give up a pleasure, which is why many people drift farther and farther into fat without doing anything to stop the process. Moreover, recent data showed that the body does not respond to diets as doctors thought it should. The body has to adapt to changes and diets are seen as lean periods that should be offset by making fat harder to burn. While the body is certainly the most complex instrument we posses in our lives, it cannot discern between actual lean times and diets.

Another problem for the body is the widespread use of fast food, snacks and soft drinks. Fast food always fools us, despite the fact that one giant burger is the caloric equivalent of an entire meal, it continue encourage our stomach into call for more. And as known by most of us, the giant burger is not usually enough to fill the stomach of an adult person, so most people eat more than one and wash it down with soft drinks that are little more than sugared water. This is an unfortunate way of eating, since the body gets far more than it needs from burgers and soft drinks. The largely sedentary lifestyles led by most urban residents mean that the excess calories will certainly be stored as fat.

By bringing in too much calories, snacks are another threat to a healthy life. The correct option for between meals snacks is to buy fruit. Sure, it may not taste as good, especially if one is used to chips or other types of snacks, but one or two bananas or some apples are far better for one’s health. A very important point is to remember that habits can be kicked just as easily as they take root. By ignoring the temptation of chips you will gradually lose interest in them and get used to fruit. Once chips are no longer a staple of your diet, you will find yourself wondering what was so good about them anyway.

October 1, 2009 | Leave a Comment

Do you find it hard to cut down on foods like potato chips, cake, bread, and pasta. Well, you are not alone. Not by a longshot! Obesity is one of the biggest problems facing people today, and one of the hardest to overcome. Sometimes you need a hand, and carb blockers are a wonder of science that are a natural, effective aid in weight loss.

Also known as starch blockers, carb blockers inhibit the production of a starch-enzyme, namely the starch-digesting enzyme alpha-amylase. With less of this enzyme in production, the body is less able to break down carbohydrates into sugar, which would normally then be absorbed into the body, which normally the excess sugar is translated into fat. The main ingredient in these pills in Phaseolus Vulgaris, which is derived from white kidney beans.

Now that the technical side is out of the way, these pills can be very handy if you are on a diet, especially the low-carb Atkins diet. Sometimes you can’t help but having high-carb foods and this is where the pills help by not letting your body absorb much of the carbs, helping you to get by. The pills help you lose weight, but you do also need to keep a reasonable diet, as the pills are not miracles in themselves. However, they do heavily help in the battle of the bulge. Weight-loss can be a struggle for many, but carb blockers help you balance your intake. Carb blockers, in addition to a sensible diet, can create a slimmer you.

Nothing Bad with Your Fat Body?

September 5, 2009 | Leave a Comment

Are you still thinking that all fat is bad? Everyone has fat on their body, however there is a certain amount of safe fat, and then there is excess fat.  You need a certain percentage of fat to be healthy.  One thing that you should know though, is that over 100 million Americans alone have “too much” fat.  This is because they are eating the naughty fats, not the good ones.

Having some fat in your diet is good, and ideally you want to make those fats good fats.  Eating a bag of chips is not a good way to get your fat.  Not only are you putting the wrong type of fat in your body, they are very bad for you!

Fat does weigh less than muscle, but the bad thing about fat is that it doesn’t help burn calories, whereas muscle does.  Therefore, you are better off weighing more by having more muscles, not fat, as your metabolism will burn much more calories in the long run if you have a higher muscle mass.

So, having the right type of fat in your diet is OK, but having over a certain amount of fat on your body can be unhealthy.  Fat is stored when you burn less calories than you take in, so the goal is to burn more calories than you eat everyday.

Your Diet doesn’t Make Sense, How Come?

August 6, 2009 | 1 Comment

Everyone who has disaster with the body in average feel fear when hear the word ‘diet’ and keep move on their bad habits as like they don’t really care with other people said. It’s their own life, their own body, so what other told about them is no matter. But you don’t realize that obese disease will be ghoul you in unpredicted time. Remember obesity is responsible for over 400,000 deaths every year. And I’m not sure you stand on one of them, right?

Your fear about diet could be reasonable because you’ve heard and saw your friends or anyone who has taken most diets did not make any sense. You saw them keep struggle with their weight and even fatter than before after they stop the diets. Let’s talk the top five reasons why most diets you’ve heard don’t work and don’t make sense for average human being.

First, almost people thought to lose some pounds must eat grapefruits for every meal for the rest of your life. I’ll bet you wouldn’t do it. This diet is work when you just want to drop weight for a week, but not for the long term at all! The diet is not consistent for long term weight loss.

Second
, you’ve heard and assume the diets are going hard to follow. Some diets have you found could be so complex, it would take a rocket scientist to figure them out such as you must well-known with calorie counting, fat counting, carb counting and separating the types of fats in every supply your eating.

Third, you wouldn’t say that you must have and make own in everything including have to provide your own chef, your own personal trainer, and your own planner on the side to become healthier. It’s really hard to maintain to get your goals when you follow that diet rules, isn’t it?

Fourth
, the diet is too expensive. Some diets charge out the nose for their food, their initial start-ups fees, their cost of equipment, and for ongoing support. A lot of these costs are just not realistic and do not make sense! A diet should not break the bank account!

The last, many diets simply instruct you to “take a pill and see what happens”. You are going to get nowhere unless you have a written plan of your goals, some goal setting strategies, and know the steps you need to take in order to achieve those goals. It does not make sense to start a diet that does not stress these points!

Probably those five reasons wouldn’t be found in one type of diet, but most diets have one or two of them. If you ask me which diet is out of the reasons, here is Strip That Fat. You need to know why the Strip That Fat Diet does make sense for everyone. The program caters to long term weight loss, it’s easy to follow, easy to maintain, inexpensive, and helps you set goals. It goes against all the listed items above that do not make sense, thus making it the perfect diet for you.
